Self Defence

Self-defence is the study of tools, tactics, and strategies designed to keep yourself safe.

At BMA, we incorporate striking tools from kickboxing and Krav Maga to stun and disorient a would-be attacker. We utilize basic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to protect ourselves if we fall, while also practicing escapes in case a physical situation goes to the ground.

Most importantly, we train our students to utilize problem-solving or common sense before self-defence. Learning how to speak up for yourself, stand up confidently, be aware of your surroundings, and reinforce the importance of making good life choices are tools that can be used to avoid or de-escalate situations.

Self-defence is like learning CPR. They are skills you want to have in an emergency.
